The entries for this year’s Munster Cricket Union leagues have now been finalised.

Division 1

In Munster Division 1 the senior side will face Cork rivals Midleton 1sts and Harlequins 1sts aswell as games against Clare 1sts and Limerick Raiders. County 1sts will also have to travel to the Lydican in Galway to face the former Connacht champions. Unfortunately, both Clare and Raiders are still without a home ground and therefore the two ‘away’ games against those sides will instead be played at the Mardyke. Captain Andy Wootton will be hoping that the weather doesn’t affect this season as much as it did last year to give the senior side the best chance at league glory aswell as a chance at defending their MCU Senior Cup crown.

Teams
Cork County 1st XI
Cork Harlequins 1st XI
Midleton 1st XI
Galway C.C.
Clare C.C. 1st XI
Limerick Raiders

Division 2

In Division 2, Kevin O’ Sullivan’s side will face tough trips to newly promoted Limerick C.C. 1sts, Kerry 1sts and especially last year’s Minor Cup winners Nenagh. Closer to home the junior side will make the short journey to Farmer’s Cross to take on ‘Quins 2nds aswell as enjoying home advantage twice over Clare 2nds. County 2nds will also be hoping for a favourable home cup draw to maximise their chances of retaining their Junior Cup title, won last year with a 7 wicket victory over Limerick.

Teams
Cork County 2nd XI
Cork Harlequins 2nd XI
Kerry C.C. 1st XI
Clare C.C. 2nd XI
Limerick C.C. 1st XI
Nenagh

Division 3

In the third tier of Munster cricket, County 3rds, captained by Mort Kelleher will be looking to improve their league position from last year’s 4th place finish. They face a tough task in a competitive league, with games against ‘Quins 3rds, Thurles and Limerick C.C. all likely to be especially difficult encounters. The minor squad will also play Midleton 2nd XI and Kerry 2nd XI aswell as(hopefully) a decent cup run.

Teams
Cork County 3rd XI
Cork Harlequins 3rd XI
Limerick C.C. 2nd XI
Kerry C.C. 2nd XI
Midleton 2nd XI
Thurles C.C.
