The 1st XI clinched the Munster Premier Division in style with a 156 run victory over local rivals Harlequins at the Mardyke. The victory leaves the side unbeaten in the league with just one fixture remaining against the same opposition.

The skipper Ross Durity won the toss and decided to bat and was keen to lead by example going on to make 86 with contributions down through the order from Byron McDonough (47*), Rudolph Pollard (36), Sunil Gautam (21) and Benji Marris (20).

With a target of 276 to defend, the County seamers were Scrooge-like in their discipline up top which laid the platform for the spinners led by Abubakar Saddique to weave their magic on a wearing pitch. Saddique finished with figures of 5-21 with the other spinners Eshan O’Sullivan 2-10 and Nabeel Anjum (2-16) also clipping in.

With Harlequins dismissed for 111, it was confirmed that the Premier Division title was returning to the Mardyke thanks to a lot of hard work from the squad who covered countless kilometres and had to battle out of some tough situations over the course of the campaign.
