Cork County U14s fourth game of the season and our fourth loss. County won the toss and Oscar McCarthy, who captained the side for the first time this season, decided to bat first.
Today however was a story of what we failed to do with the bat. From 20 overs County had 73 dot balls. With just 26 runs scored from the bat our top scorer was F. Joby on 7, with County finishing the 20 overs on a score of 67-5.
For Midleton, some excellent bowling from J Bryan (4-1-1-7) and H. Egerton (4-2-1-4) helped keep the County score down.
In reply Midleton chased down County in 18.2 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. The pick of the Midleton batsmen were Ronan (13); Harry (11) and Jamie (10) [apologies I do not have surnames].
For County F. Joby (3.2-1-0-5) and O. McCarthy (3-0-1-9) provided the most economy. L. Rahman and E. Islam were the other 2 wicket takes for County, with P. Lehrell also having an excellent game behind the stumps with just 1 bye conceded.
