Captain Kevin O’Sullivan’s report:
Cork County Crusaders had a comfortable 86 run win over the Harlequins Hurricanes at Farmers Cross on Thursday evening thanks to some fantastic performances from County’s youth players.
Having been asked to bat, Eshan O’Sullivan and Peter Barlow looked steady at the crease before Eshan departed in the 9th over with the score on 42. Talha Kayani joined Peter and with the help of some inconsistent bowling managed to push the score to 156-1 from our allocated 20 overs, Barlow finishing on 68.
Thereafter, the younger talent took over with excellent performances from Danetjie Kennedy, Rioghan & Eshan O’Sullivan, Akhiyar Hussain and Jack Cullen all of whom took at least one wicket. Sachin Saxena also chipped in with wickets and despite Peter Barlow being allowed an over of leg spin, we secured an 86 run win in the 15th over.
