The Club said farewell to overseas professional Stephan Grobler at a BBQ on Sunday evening which saw members of all ages in attendance to say their goodbyes to the South African.

The South African all rounder has spent 4 seasons at Cork County during which time the club has competed in Leinster Division 1 on two occasions, continue to dominate more locally in Munster and ultimately helped the club receive the honour of ‘Club of the Year’ in 2016.

Stephan’s influence has been felt at every level of the club, from the U11s right up to the 1st XI with his professionalism an example to all. Not only was he a great cricketer but also a gentleman and great ambassador for the club as captain and leader. It was fitting that he captained the Munster Reds during their return to senior inter-provincial cricket in 2017.

We wish Stephan and his family well in the years to come and there will always be a warm welcome for him at the Mardyke. Go well Steph! #WeAreCounty ??
